I make documentary films and story-driven video content for people and organisations that are trying to make the world a little better. I believe that the most powerful way to communicate impact is not through data or reports, but through the stories of the people at the heart of the work.
“A three-minute story about one person can do what a 50-page report never could: make someone care.”
How I got here
Before I picked up a camera, I was a research scientist. I spent years studying complex systems and translating data into insights. But I kept running into the same wall: the data was clear, but nobody was listening.
That’s when I discovered documentary filmmaking. And everything changed.
What I believe
The story already exists. I don’t invent narratives. I find them. Every organisation already has powerful stories waiting to be told.
Characters create care. People connect with people, not brands. When you put a real human at the centre of your story, everything changes.
Story is a tool, not a luxury. Storytelling isn’t just about being creative. It’s a strategic instrument that drives awareness, engagement, and action.
How I work
I work either alone or with filmmakers I trust. When you work with Shift, you work directly with me, from the first conversation to the final cut. That means a more personal process, faster decisions, and a film that truly reflects your voice.
I’m currently writing a book called “Story for Good”, exploring how documentary storytelling can be used as a strategic tool by purpose-driven organisations.
Beyond the work
I live in Flanders, Belgium with my family. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me mountain biking, making music, or bikepacking. I’m endlessly curious about how stories shape the way we see the world.
