What is recorded when you visit

On a landing page, case study, video page or audit, how long you spend on the page, how far down it you scroll, and which sections you spend that time on. This is stored against a random identifier created for your visit, which is not kept anywhere on your device and is not linked to any profile of you elsewhere.

On a page with a video, how far through that video you got. It is recorded once, as the furthest point you reached, not as a running trace of what you did with the player.

If you arrived through a personalised link, from an email, a campaign or a printed code, that visit is linked to the contact record the link was made for, so the operator can see that the page they sent you was opened.

On a form or a booking page, whatever you type into it: at minimum your name and email address, plus any other questions asked, and for a booking the time you chose.

Nothing is stored on your device on these pages. There are no cookies, no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics.

Why, and on what basis

Engagement measurement runs on the operator’s legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)) in knowing whether the material they sent you reached you. It is limited to their own pages, is not combined with data from anywhere else, and is not shared or sold.

Anything you submit in a form or a booking is processed to answer you and to take the steps you asked for before any agreement (art. 6(1)(b)), and afterwards to keep the business records the operator is required to keep (art. 6(1)(c)).

Opting out of measurement

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, no engagement measurement runs at all: nothing is recorded for your visit. Several browsers and extensions send it for you, and enabling it needs no action from the operator.

You can also object at any time by writing to the address above, and you can ask for anything already recorded to be deleted.

How long it is kept

Engagement records are kept for as long as the contact remains in the operator’s records, and are deleted with the contact. Forms and bookings are kept for as long as the working relationship they belong to, and then for the period the operator’s tax and accounting rules require.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask for processing to be restricted, object to it, and ask for it in a portable form. Write to the email address above; there is nothing to pay and no form to fill in.

If you are in the EU or the UK and are unhappy with the reply, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In Belgium that is the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.
